About our project Mission Anti-Rabies

Worldwide, there are 59,000 humane deaths per year. In Tanzania alone, 1,500 people die each year. 40% of the fatalities are children. Rabies is 99% transmitted through dog bites. Rabies is 100% preventable through vaccination.

The network VSF International, of which Veterinarians Without Borders Austria is a member, has long been contributing to the eradication of rabies. The measures include, among other things,

Zero by 2030 is a joint plan by WHO, FAO, OIE and GARC to eliminate rabies worldwide. The goal is to end human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030. <link...

Our current project Mission Anti-Rabies is dedicated to the fight against rabies. We vaccinate dogs in Africa and thus protect animals and humans from the deadly virus.
