International Day for Tolerance

What distinguishes people from each other is often a connecting link as well, because it creates curiosity and arouses interest for what is foreign to us, don't you agree? | © Veterinarians without Borders

Today is the International Day for Tolerance, launched in 1995 by UNESCO. Tolerance allows a decent coexistence of different cultures and religions by allowing other opinions, actions and conventions.

Veterinarians without Borders believe that the ancient knowledge and traditions of indigenous peoples are a very valuable good. Therefore, we collect and document traditional knowledge about animal husbandry, food processing and healing of the Maasai to preserve it for future generations. We are very proud of the thesis of our Tanzanian employee John Laffa on the traditional method of preserving milk in the Maasai steppe. Read more here.
