Steam cooking in the traditional way

Sweet potatoes are very popular in Africa. In Tanzania, many small traders sell steamed sweet potatoes as meal. Sandawe people traditionally steam-cook them, as Bernadeta Philipo shows us in this video. As lid she uses pumpkin leaves.

By the way: The sweet potatoes were grown on Bernadeta's field. Veterinarians withour Borders provided her and the other trainees of our project Mobile school for Sandawe agro-pastoralists with the seedlings.
