This year, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) celebrates its 75th anniversary. With the primary goal of eliminating hunger in the world, FAO's tasks include raising standards for food and living and improving the production and distribution of food.

Against the background of the worldwide spread of the Corona virus, the FAO has published the following message on its website: "World Food Day 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of FAO in an exceptional moment as countries around the world deal with the widespread effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a time to look into the future we need to build together."
