Indigenous people comprise less than five per cent of the world population. Often these people live a life on the margins of society, because their traditional ways of life are considered outdated. Yet, indigenous peoples play a significant role in preserving world’s biodiversity in the ecosystems in which they have lived for centuries. In addition, each of these peoples contribute to a wonderful human diversity. Veterinarians without Borders supports indigenous people to preserve their ancient traditions in a modern world and lead self-confident, independent lives.
